TERASi today unveiled the RU1, the world’s smallest ultra-compact radio with military-grade security, designed for rapid deployment and secure communications. This announcement follows a string of successes in 2025, with TERASi’s wafer-scale Aircore™ packaging technology powering the world’s largest 6G antenna, ultra-compact filters, and more — further solidifying the company’s position as a leader in next-generation communication technologies.

Operational teams in hostile or remote environments often struggle with traditional communications infrastructure. High-demand scenarios such as military operations or re-establishing communications for emergency responders are hampered by slow, cumbersome deployments, high costs, vulnerability to interception and jamming, and inadequate bandwidth.

The RU1 overcomes these limitations by using ultra-compact, mm-wave radios operating above 60 GHz. The hardware employs highly focused, laser-like beams on a different part of the electromagnetic spectrum, making interception or jamming virtually impossible. TERASi’s patented Aircore™ technology allows the radio to be up to 40 times smaller and up to 100 times lighter than the nearest-in-class products. Deployable in minutes on tripods or drones, the RU1 creates sovereign, gigabit-speed wireless backbones that are up to 50 times faster than satellites, secure and adaptable to rapidly changing environments.
